About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for Oncology Early Clinical Development with a focus on Hematology. The successful candidate will be a physician leader with a strong background in early-phase oncology clinical development and a passion for shaping translational strategies for innovative hematology therapies. This role is pivotal in driving the successful translation of therapies from preclinical research to clinical development, particularly in the areas of tumor-cell targeting and next-generation immuno-oncology agents. The Executive Director will be responsible for leading a team to design and execute early-phase studies, ensuring alignment with target medicine profiles, and enhancing collaboration between clinical development and preclinical teams. Key responsibilities include clinical study design and execution, translational research strategy, data analysis, and interpretation, as well as leadership and mentorship of a team of medical directors and clinical scientists.
Candidates for this role at the company should have a medical degree with oncology board certification or eligibility, and a strong background in hematology. Experience in designing and executing early-phase clinical studies, particularly first-in-human and proof-of-concept trials, is essential. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of hematology treatment guidelines, the therapeutic competitive landscape, and the clinical development and drug approval processes in major regions. A proven track record in developing and driving translational strategies, including biomarker and companion diagnostic development, is required. Global regulatory experience and the ability to lead and mentor a team are also key qualifications. The role demands a leader who can foster a culture of integrity, and collaboration, and is committed to the mission of advancing oncology therapies for the benefit of patients.
