Campus Location: This position is a hybrid role where an individual would work onsite 3 days a week from either our Indianapolis, IN; Ft. Wayne, IN; or Cincinnati, OH Education Centers and 2 days remote.
Summary of Position: Under the leadership of the Executive Vice President/CPO, the Executive Director of Multicultural Learning and Engagement (MLE) at IWU National & Global (N&G) is responsible for leading efforts to impact organizational culture, address the needs of students, and develop strategies, implementation, and oversight of initiatives for multicultural learning, engagement, and belonging for the N&G community. The Executive Director must be team-oriented, confidential, and an innovative, collaborative leader who develops, executes, and integrates initiatives to maintain Kingdom-focused diversity as priority for National & Global faculty, staff, students, and curriculum. This role collaborates with the Chancellor of National & Global and teams on a regular basis to ensure the distinctives and priorities of the organization are supported and implemented through the responsibilities of the role.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and Collaborate:
- Leads the Multicultural Learning and Engagement Champions Team
- Collaborates with faculty, staff, departments, and leadership across National & Global to advance Kingdom diversity, belonging, and intercultural integration
- Strategy and Consultation:
- Develops strategies with stakeholders
- Consults with students, student groups, and employees on cultural awareness, responsiveness, and biblical problem resolution, connecting them with appropriate departments or processes
- Executes and measures the National & Global portion of the Kingdom diversity tactical plan, and builds a strategic tactical plan for the Champions team that aligns with the National & Global priorities and IWU Momentum Plan
- People & Culture Initiatives:
- Develops and manages mentoring, professional development, and culture-building initiatives aligned with People & Culture and institutional goals for enrollment and retention with and for National & Global
- Mentoring and Student Support:
- Supports adult/online learner mentoring efforts by training mentors, connecting students to key resources, analyzing outreach data, and adjusting strategies based on feedback and performance metrics
- Demonstrates technological acumen in supporting online learners, utilizing LMS or CRM platforms and support tools to track student engagement, input data, and monitor retention indicators
- Education and Development:
- Designs and facilitates learning workshops, development sessions, newsletters, and orientations for employees and students
- Data and Evaluation:
- Collects and analyzes data on recruitment, retention, mentoring, and support programs
- Monitors dashboards; prepares reports for institutional decision-making, accreditation, and program evaluation
- External and Internal Partnerships:
- Builds relationships with community partners and external stakeholders
- Coordinates event planning and guest speakers; represents the university on internal and external committees
- Administrative and Leadership Support:
- Maintains budget and projections; connects with distributed employees in the National & Global regions
- Provides support and communication for EVP/CPO as needed
- Collaborates with IWU Marion and Wesley Seminary on all-university initiatives and People & Culture development
- Other Duties:
- Performs additional tasks as assigned by the EVP/CPO in coordination with the Chancellor of IWU National & Global

Education
- Master's degree in a related field required
- Terminal degree in a related field preferred
- Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training: None
- Preferred Licensure, Certification, and/or Specialized Training:
- Certificate in Diversity, Cultural Intelligence (CQ), or equivalent
- Familiarity and/or experience with relevant regulation of admission and maintenance of status for visas for international students and duties of a designated school official (DSO)
Experience
Required:
- Three to five (3-5) years of related diversity leadership with demonstrated track
record of progressive leadership - Experience in working in collaborative contexts across departmental lines is important. Three to five (3-5) years of supervisory, educational or project management experience in a similar role, or relevant supervisory office experience in higher
education, including the training, development, coordination, and evaluation of complex work among a team of staff and/or students (may run concurrently) - Successful candidates must possess a strong Christian commitment, adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement, and fully support the IWU Kingdom Diversity Statement and actions related to it
Preferred:
- Bilingual
- Experience developing structural, cultural, and related competencies impacting academic development and performance
- Experience in organizational quality improvement of higher education or cultural contexts
- Experience in working in collaborative contexts across departmental lines

- Skill in student mentoring, faculty and staff development and training
- Skill in interpersonal communication with a successful record of cultivating productive collegial relationships in effective teams of various constituencies (e.g., diverse students, faculty, staff, community stakeholders)
- Skill in Microsoft Office-based software applications
- Skill in effective internal and external networking with the ability to build and sustain key relationships
- Skill in analysis, research, and synthesis
- Ability to build and advance institutional Kingdom diversity initiatives for students and/or employees
- Ability to collaboratively create and develop mentoring and pipeline programs with measurable outcomes
- Ability to analyze and evaluate programs, surveys and synthesize feedback
- Fluidity with diverse communities, cultures, and stakeholders
- Ability to maintain confidential information related to students, staff and others
