About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for Nutrition Support Services to lead the strategic design and implementation of the district's school food operations. The successful candidate will be a visionary and strategic leader, responsible for driving system-wide priorities to increase student meal participation, reduce food insecurity, and advance nutrition equity. This role requires a minimum of 10 years' experience in the food service industry, with a strong background in education or institutional food service, and a proven track record of executive management. The Executive Director will oversee all aspects of the nutrition programs, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and will be accountable for the delivery of high-quality, culturally relevant meals to the student population.
Candidates for the Executive Director position must have a Bachelor's degree, with a preference for a degree in a related field, and a Master's degree is strongly preferred. Professional credentials such as Registered Dietitian or School Nutrition Specialist are also preferred. The role demands a leader with strong skills in strategic planning, data analysis, and continuous improvement, as well as the ability to manage a multi-million-dollar budget and foster partnerships to promote innovation. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of USDA child nutrition programs, food compliance regulations, and experience in managing large, complex operations. Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills are essential, as is the ability to work under pressure and maintain relationships with union representation.
