About Midwest Food Bank
Midwest Food Bank (MFB) is a non-denominational, faith-based nonprofit founded in 2003 in Bloomington, Illinois. Dedicated to alleviating hunger and malnutrition in the U.S. and internationally, MFB partners with over 2,200 nonprofit organizations—such as food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters—to distribute food at no cost. In 2022, MFB distributed food valued at over $415 million, much of it rescued from large manufacturers. The organization also supports disaster relief with rapid-response food boxes and produces "Tender Mercies," a nutritious, shelf-stable meal product. MFB operates with exceptional efficiency, directing 99% of donations to its programs and maintaining a four-star Charity Navigator rating since 2011.
Launched in 2021 and based in Haltom City, MFB’s Dallas/Fort Worth Division has experienced rapid growth - now supporting more than 150 nonprofit partners and generating over $1 million annually. As the division enters its next chapter, focused on facility expansion, regional outreach, and increased fundraising, MFB seeks a mission-driven, people-centered Executive Director to lead this pivotal growth and strengthen its impact across Texas.
The Role
The Executive Director (ED) of the Texas Division, based in Haltom City, is responsible for advancing Midwest Food Bank’s mission through strategic leadership, operational excellence, and fundraising growth. Reporting to the national leadership team and working closely with a local advisory board, the ED ensures the division operates efficiently, ethically, and in full alignment with MFB’s values.
This is a high-impact, hands-on role for a humble, people-centered, and entrepreneurial leader who thrives in a dynamic, service-driven environment. The ED oversees daily operations, including food distribution programs, volunteer engagement, and donor stewardship, while ensuring compliance with nonprofit governance, budgeting, financial reporting, and tax requirements.
As the public face of the Texas Division, the ED represents MFB in the community - building strategic relationships, collaborating with local partners, and empowering staff, volunteers, and board members to fulfill the organization’s mission.
Midwest Food Bank believes humility equals success and seeks a leader who embodies integrity, compassion, and a deep commitment to service.
