AbouttheRole:
AsExecutiveDirector,you’llguidethestrategicdirectionofMWUAandworkcloselywithacommitted BoardofDirectors,staff,committees,andstatewidepartners.You’llmanageoperations,deliver impactfulprograms,andrepresentMaine’swaterutilitiesonkeylegislative,regulatory,andindustry issues.
WhatYou’llBeDoing:
Leadday‐to‐dayoperationsandstaffmanagement. Developandmanagetheannualbudgetandassociationfinances. Representthewaterutilityprofessioninlegislativeandregulatorymatters. Coordinateeducation,training,andprofessionaldevelopmentprogrammingacrossthestate. Buildrelationshipswithpublicagencies,othernonprofits,andstakeholders. Planandmanageannualconferencesandevents. CommunicateregularlywithMWUAmembersthroughnewsletters,meetings,andmedia.
WhatWe’reLookingFor:
ABachelor’sdegreeinpublicwatersupply,engineering,lifesciences,business, communications,orarelatedfield. Atleast5yearsofprovenleadershipexperience,ideallyinamanagerialornonprofitsetting. Strongwrittenandverbalcommunicationskills. Experiencewithbudgeting,advocacy,personnelmanagement,andcommunitypartnerships. FamiliaritywithMaine’slegislativeandregulatoryenvironmentisaplus. Validdriver’slicenseandabilitytotravelthroughoutMaine(occasionalevenings,weekends,or overnightstaysrequired).
