About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for Internal Audit and SOX. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the internal audit function, developing and executing a comprehensive risk-based audit plan, and ensuring full compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Section 404. This role requires a strategic and critical thinker with a strong commitment to integrity and accountability, who can provide independent and objective assurance and consulting services to enhance the organization's operations. The Executive Director will also be tasked with conducting complex audits, delivering high-quality audit reports, and proactively tracking industry trends and emerging risks.
Applicants for the Executive Director position must have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a CPA and/or CIA certification. A minimum of 20 years' of progressive experience in internal audit, particularly within a publicly traded, life science or biopharma industry, is essential. The role demands a deep understanding of SOX requirements, internal control frameworks, GAAP, and risk management methodologies. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, and experience with Oracle is preferred. The Executive Director will be expected to partner with various functional leaders to ensure accountability for control performance and issue resolution, and to lead business continuity for the enterprise. Strong leadership skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are also key qualifications for this position.
