The Business Health Care Group (BHCG) is seeking an exceptional Executive Director (ED) to lead our coalition of employers dedicated to improving the value of health care across Wisconsin. Position Summary As the Executive Director (ED), you'll serve as the public face of BHCG and guide our mission and strategic goals to ensure high-quality, cost-effective care that enhances employee well-being. The ED oversees all aspects of the organization’s operations, including strategic planning, budgeting, stakeholder engagement, vendor management, and service delivery. The ED reports directly to the Executive Steering Committee. Key Responsibilities Lead and execute BHCG’s strategic plan aligned with our mission. Grow and retain employer membership through value-driven engagement. Act as spokesperson for BHCG with media, employers, providers, and public officials. Oversee daily operations , including staffing, budgeting, and governance compliance. Manage vendor/consultant relationships to ensure effectiveness and accountability. Advocate for and implement programs that improve healthcare quality and control costs. Promote data-driven decision-making using analytics and reporting tools. Build partnerships with organizations that share our commitment to value-based care, including local, regional, and national organizations. Qualifications Education & Experience Master’s degree (preferred) in Business, Health Care Administration, Public Health, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years in executive leadership within health care; 10+ years strongly preferred. Proven expertise in: -Employer-sponsored health benefits strategy -Provider contracting and network management -Third-party administration and vendor oversight -Value-based care and quality improvement initiatives Skills & Competencies Strategic, analytical mindset with a focus on trends and long-term goals. Strong financial management experience, including multi-source budgets. Excellent communicator—adept at engaging C-suite leaders and public audiences. Relationship builder with diverse stakeholders and community partners. Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with data tools is a plus. Change agent who can lead through influence and navigate ambiguity. Additional Requirements Valid Wisconsin driver’s license. Relevant certifications (e.g., Health Care Quality, CEBS) are a plus. Willingness to travel within Wisconsin and occasionally beyond. Availability for evening and weekend commitments as necessary.
