The role youll contribute:

The Executive Director for Learning Innovation and Faculty Excellence facilitates and supports the educational development of faculty at AHU in collaboration with leadership in scholarship/research, educational technology, integration of faith and learning, and online instruction. The Executive Director works in consultation with the Academic Administration, departmental leaders, and the Faculty Development Committee to set visionary goals and develop programming for individual faculty, academic departments, and implements institutional programs that meet institutional goals. The Executive Director will be responsible for the advancement of curricular instruction and development, as well as educational technology, in collaboration with related departments, in keeping with the AHU mission and vision. The Executive Director actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. The Executive Director for Learning Innovation and Faculty Excellence is the primary academic supervisor of professional development programs and reports directly to the Provost.

The value youll bring to the team:

  • Lead the Teaching/Learning Innovation Steering Committee
  • Organize programming for Faculty Professional Development meetings
  • Lead educational innovation efforts that directly impact faculty teaching practice by researching, partnering with faculty and other stakeholders, identifying teaching innovation projects to recommend for funding, and designing training for new educational technologies and approaches that have been adopted
  • Create and sustain strategic planning for instructional design, innovative teaching/learning and rank and promotion aspects
  • Supervise team members related to educational technology and curricular design
  • Develop and deliver new faculty orientation and scaffold year-long development sequence for all core faculty and select contributing faculty, in collaboration with the Faculty Rank and Promotion Committee
  • Develop, implement and advance an institute of innovative teaching/learning and educational technology, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead and participate in initiatives related to faculty excellence, research and assessment with the research committees and institutional effectiveness leaders
  • Enhance instructional and curriculum design through education and consultation
  • Assist with accreditation aspects related to teaching/learning
  • Develop and implement training for faculty related to rank and promotion areas
  • Promote and ensure evidence-based teaching/learning strategies among faculty

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:

  • Doctoral degree in leadership, education, healthcare administration, curriculum design, management, or other related area of expertise
