Job Duties Duties & Responsibilities Oversees the overall operations and employee administration for the Facilities Maintenance Department. Evaluates the organizational structure to ensure optimum performance and success in the face of changing requirements and limited resources. Oversees the professional development and training requirements as well as expectations for departmental staff. Establishes and implements departmental safety standards and procedures to mitigate risk and prevent accidents. Works collaboratively with campus safety staff to ensure the department is trained in required safety protocols. Promotes continuous improvement of teamwork, workplace safety and environmental practices. Duties & Responsibilities Prioritizes work execution and coordinates work activities with multiple stakeholders in support of the University’s academic and research mission. Provides oversight of Facilities Maintenance to include custodial, landscape, lock shop, electrical, general maintenance, HVAC, carpentry, paint, business administration, personnel, equipment, vehicle fleet, motor pool, and all functions related to facilities maintenance. Duties & Responsibilities Develops the Facilities Maintenance departmental budget requirements, considering projected workload, future plans, capital project investments, payroll management, training standards, projected revenue from billable requests, emergent requirements and University priorities. Ensures proper allocation of expenses to comply with fiscal policies and procedures. Monitors budgets during execution to remain within specified funding levels and controls, and to ensure budgets are effectively and efficiently executed throughout the fiscal year. Duties & Responsibilities Leads the operations and maintenance of campus utility systems, including potable water distribution, electrical power distribution, wastewater collection, natural gas distribution, and a central heating/cooling plant with associated steam/chilled water distribution. Develops and implements guidelines, and standard operating procedures for conducting departmental functions and responsibilities effectively and efficiently. Oversees the implementation and upkeep of computerized maintenance management systems. Duties & Responsibilities Develops, implements and oversees the facilities deferred and preventive maintenance program and establishes priorities based on needs and available funding. Directs the development and review of cost estimates for renovation and repair work using established cost and time standards. Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for the overall regulatory compliance of all aspects of Facilities Maintenance. Monitors building maintenance contracts for code and regulatory compliance and controlling costs for all facilities service contracts. Duties & Responsibilities Leads the development and support of campus-wide controls, main plant heating and cooling, and energy management programs. Reviews proposals of building and facilities modifications to enhance physical environment, energy conservation and presents proposals to the Vice President for Facilities Management for review and approval. Reviews and recommends procedures, and guidelines to accomplish energy conservation objectives. Duties & Responsibilities Keeps the campus leadership advised and informed on all matters of importance. Provides expert technical advice concerning all aspects of facilities management and operations. Develops reports and metrics to evaluate performance and track progress towards goals and objectives. Establishes long- and short-range goals, including facilities related KPls in agreement with the University’s Strategic Plan. Duties & Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned.
