We are looking for a dynamic, talented Executive Director - Enterprise Communications to join our team specializing in global employee, executive and corporate communications for Cummins headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. The role is designated hybrid and requires less than 25% overall travel.
The Corporate Communications team exists to position Cummins as the leading power provider to the world's most demanding, economically vital applications and a critical player in the transition to a clean economy. In this role, the Executive Director - Enterprise Communications will make an impact in the following ways: While reporting to the Vice President of Communications, this role will own the development, execution, and sustainability of Cummins's enterprise-wide, globally integrated corporate communications strategy. To do this, you will lead a team of senior communications professionals and have responsibility for global employee and executive communications, including the company's communications strategy and key messaging for its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I); Environmental Sustainability and Governance (ESG); and Corporate Responsibilityinitiatives.
Leads a fully integrated communications function for Cummins globally; drives and directs both external and internal communications, seeking to build on successful existing strategies and identifying powerful, innovative new approaches to strategic communication, particularly in internal/employeecommunications.
Recruits, selects, develops, manages, motivates, coaches, and mentors directors and managers; talent management and development are integral elements of the Executive Director’s roles and responsibilities.
Creates value by acting as a strategic partner and guiding leaders to communications strategies and content that inspire and shift audience actions and commitments toward greater business impact.
Develops a skills and competency model for the Enterprise Communications function and deploys a development and training program to ensure our Communicators are staying up to date on the latest skills, trends and technologies within ourindustry.
Develops and leads strategic, integrated communications plans and messaging that supports and aligns to Cummins’ most important business and growthobjectives.
Evaluates and builds organizational branding considering current external corporate communications.
Directs the annual operating plan process and budget for the Enterprise Communications function; ensures appropriate management of annual operating plan andbudget.
Partners with the head of Brand and Reputation Communications to drive Public Relations and Media Relations to support corporate reputation andimage.
Interfaces with Government Relations and Investor Relations, as well the Marketing Council.
Partners with Corporate Social Responsibility and Corporate Counsel.
Partners with the head of Brand and Reputation Communications to drive corporate crisis management strategy and issues managementapproach.
Coaches and provides support for senior leaders on speechwriting.
Assesses how information is currently communicated internally and evaluates ways to optimize.
Partners with IT and Digital organizations to determine our digital channel management strategy, particularly for employee communications, ensuring the most engaging yet cost-effective, channels for communicating to today'saudience.
Ensure the effective deployment of the function's new operating model, including all new and refined processes, governance, and collaboration points, including adding to and updating the operating model based on your background andexperience.

College, university, or equivalent degree in Marketing, Communicationsrequired
MBA, Master's in Communications or Master's in Marketing highlypreferred
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary range: $187,500-$312,500. Please note that the salary range provided is a good-faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage, and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
