About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Clinical Operations to lead and inspire the global clinical development operations within the assigned therapeutic area or business unit. The successful candidate will be a role model for the company's values and will be responsible for continuous improvement initiatives to achieve business objectives. This role involves functional leadership in global clinical operations, including direct and indirect management of staff, and requires a deep understanding of oncology through Phases I-IV, as well as expert knowledge of global regulatory and compliance requirements for clinical research. The Executive Director will also be accountable for the strategic and financial planning of clinical programs, maintaining relationships with strategic partners, and ensuring the consistent implementation of clinical operations processes.
Candidates for this position should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with an advanced degree being highly desirable, and at least 15 years' of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or clinical research organization. A minimum of 12 years' in clinical study or program management, including at least 6 years' of line management experience, is required. The role demands a leader with a proven track record in managing large, complex global studies, and experience in successful change management. The Executive Director will be expected to collaborate with global functional heads, chair operational strategy review meetings, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, on-time, and on-budget clinical trials. The position also involves overseeing the clinical budget, maintaining therapeutic area knowledge, and leading global initiatives in support of the company's R&D objectives.
