About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer (ED/CEO) to lead its mission of fostering licensed professional engineers in service to society. The successful candidate will be a strategic, innovative, and financially astute leader, capable of driving organizational growth, championing diversity, and ensuring the company's continued relevance and influence in a rapidly changing engineering landscape. Key responsibilities for the ED/CEO include creating a compelling value proposition, leading sustainable financial strategies, and overseeing the planning and evaluation of effective programs and services. The role also involves working closely with the Board of Directors, House of Delegates, and committee leaders, and positioning the company as an advocacy leader in the legislative and regulatory sector.
Applicants for the ED/CEO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree, with a preference for a CAE (Certified Association Executive). Prior experience as an Executive Director/CEO and a background in a scientific, STEM, or built environment association/non-profit organization are also preferred. The ideal candidate will have a leadership style that is adaptable and flexible, with a proven track record in change management and excelling in turnaround environments. Strong communication skills, exceptional relationship-building, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and innovative organizational culture are essential. The role requires a leader with high emotional intelligence, mentorship abilities, and a servant-leader approach, who can work with the Board and staff to achieve the company's strategic goals.
