About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for its Feerick Center for Social Justice. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the Center, with a focus on the development and operation of justice initiatives that combat poverty. This role involves creating and maintaining strategic relationships with partner organizations, securing financial support through philanthropy and grants, and overseeing all aspects of internal and external communications. The Executive Director will also be tasked with recruiting and managing a diverse team, including professional and administrative staff, law student fellows, and volunteers. Essential functions include serving as a liaison to outside partners, ensuring compliance with grant funding, and directing marketing and publicity efforts.
Applicants must have a Juris Doctor degree, be admitted to the NYS bar, and have a minimum of 10 years of legal and professional experience, with at least 5 years in program development and management in an anti-poverty or justice-related area. The role requires a strong background in litigation, experience with pro bono and volunteer programs, and a proven track record in grants management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to public interest initiatives, possess excellent communication skills, and have the ability to prioritize and manage projects effectively. Professional proficiency in Spanish and experience with individual donor fundraising are strongly preferred. The Executive Director will also be expected to mentor and supervise a range of individuals, from law students to young lawyers and interns.
