ERP Finance Transformation Advisor (Director)

Grant Thornton is seeking a ERP Finance Transformation Advisor (Director) to join the team in Hartford, CT.
As the ERP Finance Transformation Advisor (Director), this role is pivotal in enabling enterprise-wide transformation by assisting and advising accounting Subject Matter Experts regarding Grant Thornton’s ERP implementation. You will collaborate with various technology teams, finance teams, and business leaders to deliver a best-in-class ERP system.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work side by side with Grant Thornton’s accounting department’s subject matter experts to implement ERP, providing insight and advice based on knowledge of ERP and ERP functionality.
Provide configuration support to ERP Implementation team ensuring legacy / customized processes are transformed to leverage the ERP’s out of the box capabilities
Coordinate/partner with the ERP programs Project Manager and Grant Thornton’s PMO to ensure Accounting workstream remains on track with implementation timeline commitments.
Collaborate with adjacent departments (Billing, Procurement, FP&A) to ensure new ERP’s configuration satisfies their business needs
Assist in developing system administrator requirements for post go-live environment, including playbook for migrating newly acquired entities onto the Grant Thornton ERP Platform.
Once ERP is implemented, assist in migration of newly acquired entities onto the Grant Thornton ERP platform
Other duties as assigned
In conjunction/coordination with accounting SMEs conduct current state/future state policy and procedure gap analyses for individual areas.
In conjunction/coordination with accounting SMEs, analyze existing as well as develop comprehensive requirements, including data fields, data sources, and any necessary formulas or algorithms, to produce insightful reporting.
Assist in developing, defining and conducting user acceptance tests, ensuring the system functionality meets user requirements and expectations
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
15+ years of work experience in an operational accounting leadership role at a $1B+ enterprise, including experience managing a tier 1 ERP (. SAP or Oracle).
Certifications CPA preferred.
Communications skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills – recommend using this verbiage for all levels
Ability to travel at short notice and work additional hours as necessary.
Travel percentage: up to 20%
