Overview

The Engagement Director plays a critical leadership role in overseeing all contracted implementation support services under the Health Care Management and Coordination System (HCMACS) Program. This position acts as the primary liaison to the HCMACS Program leadership, governance bodies, and other key stakeholders. The Engagement Director ensures alignment of vendor performance with program milestones, facilitates effective staffing, and ensures compliance with all contractual obligations. This role requires strong expertise in Electronic Health Record (EHR) system deployments—specifically Epic Community Connect—and oversight of multi-entity implementation models, particularly in public sector settings.

Responsibilities

• Leadership and Vendor Coordination:

• Provide strategic planning, oversight, and direction to the contracted team throughout the duration of the contract.

• Act as the single point of contact for engagement-related activities, such as contract administration, dispute resolution, and cross-functional coordination.

• Represent the interests of the vendor during project escalations and executive-level discussions.

• Provider Deployment and Support:

• Maintain accountability for the successful onboarding and deployment of the HCMACS Enterprise electronic health record (EHR) solution to participating providers.

• Serve as the overall lead for vendor resource deployment and ensure alignment of contractor staffing with program schedules and objectives.

• Subcontractor and Vendor Management:

• Manage subcontractor performance and relationships while ensuring all personnel adhere to HCMACS standards.

• Ensure timely issue identification and resolution related to subcontractor roles, performance, or contractual obligations.

• Stakeholder Engagement:

• Establish robust communication channels with program stakeholders to ensure transparency and progress updates.

• Collaborate with HCA, agency partners, and governance bodies on staffing needs, project risks, and mitigation plans.

• Lead efforts to implement program-wide change control processes and govern communication strategies.

• Risk and Issue Management:

• Monitor all aspects of project risk and resource readiness.

• Collaborate with project leads to address potential risks proactively.

• Demonstrate effective problem resolution and decisive escalation management.

• Compliance and Reporting:

• Maintain alignment with project performance metrics and federal/state regulations.

• Lead the preparation and submission of monthly newsletters, updates, and long-term communication plans to stakeholders.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.

• A Master’s Degree is strongly preferred.

• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is highly preferred. Other healthcare IT certifications related to Epic EHR implementations are advantageous.

• Minimum 10 years of experience leading large-scale EHR implementations.

• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience with Epic Community Connect or similar multi-entity deployment models.

• Significant experience working in public-sector healthcare or with state/local government agencies.

• Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Minimum Skills Required:

• Deep knowledge of Epic implementation methodologies and the functional/clinical benefits delivered to participating agencies.

• Expertise with the complexities of interoperability, provider onboarding, and multi-agency data integration.

• Proven executive-level communication skills to manage high-level discussions with governance bodies, stakeholders, and subcontractors.

• Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead large, multi-functional teams, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, and quality goals.

• Experience deploying EHR systems in clinical settings (e.g., hospitals or clinics) within safety-net provider networks or public-payer systems.

• Strong organizational and decision-making skills, with a thorough understanding of program management, best practices.

• Expertise managing subcontractors in complex, multi-vendor environments to ensure alignment with program goals and regulatory frameworks

• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail.

• Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast past environment with changing priorities; adaptable to change and a quick learner.

• Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team.

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately

• Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Working Conditions

• Professional remote environment.

Pay Range

USD $170,000.00 - USD $225,000.00 /Yr.
