CommuniCare Health Services is a fast-growing provider of long term care with over 130 facilities located in 6 states. We are currently recruiting an experienced leader to assume the position of Division Director of Revenue Cycle for our Midwest Division, which includes our Ohio and Indiana facilities.

This position is responsible for meeting/exceeding established targets for 3 primary metrics; Cash Collections, Reduction of Bad Debt, and Reduction of Aged AR. This position will be the Revenue Cycle owner for their Division, and by working with Home Office & their Division Team, be asked to (a) make sure daily operations are being ran to achieve their highest yield, (b) identify opportunities for improvement and rapidly deploy action plans/best practices, and (c) ensure alignment with home office expectations on vision and strategy.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides daily leadership, support, direction, and training to their Divisional team. Including, but not limited to the following roles; Regional Director of Finance (RDFs), Regional Medicaid Liaison (RMLs), Executive Directors (EDs), and Business Office Managers (BOMs).
  • Provides support to Divisional Leadership(s) of Finance and Operations. (eg; DVP-Finance and RDOs)
  • Provides leadership across their division to optimize results in all aspects of revenue cycle. Provides leadership within the division by diagnosing, evaluating and developing corrective actions that result in the optimization of revenue cycle operations. Makes actionable recommendations that are supported by data analysis. Metrics are created to measure progress.
  • Works with Home Office to develop and roll out the model for the Monthly Operating Reviews (MORs). Works with DVPs, RDOs, and others on adoption of the MORs process. Leads the MORs for their division.
  • Identifies need for standardization & adoption of processes, reporting, and the revenue cycle model across the enterprise. With support & oversight from Home Office on adoption of the standard model, implements standardization & centralization where appropriate.
  • Works collaboratively with the Corporate VP of Revenue Cycle to identify new revenue cycle initiatives (RCIs), and support/implement/monitor existing RCIs across the ministry.
  • Works collaboratively with the Finance team on determining contractuals, allowances, and reserving. They will also ensure that all internal controls are in place for compliance with GAAP guidelines & EOFY audits.
  • Develops strategies to decrease expenses within their Division's Revenue Cycle operations and across the enterprise; as well as, implements strategies to improve their Division's Cost to Collect.
  • Utilizes team-building concepts to facilitate communication and direction that supports the corporate mission, vision and values. Responsible for providing leadership in regard to reimbursement improvements and cross-walks for the General Accounting and Finance areas. Assures compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements for Revenue Cycle.
  • Upholds the mission, vision, and values of Communicare Health Services. Conducts all aspects of business with the highest level of integrity and ethics.

Qualifications

Minimum: BS in Accounting or Finance, or 5 years of comparable experience in revenue cycle or financial leadership roles, preferably in long term care or senior living industry.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Working knowledge of hospital and health system operations and reporting and the impact of the revenue cycle on them.
  • A broad knowledge of the healthcare industry, insurance, managed care and integrated delivery systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, the ability to understand complex reimbursement structures and the ability to apply contractual and governmental regulations to billing processes.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively work through an organization to influence change. Ability to forge effective working relationships with key executives, helping them better understand the financial implications of their operations.
  • Ability to build, develop, educate and maintain an effective team.
  • High degree of interpersonal skills
  • Ability to change the thinking of others and/or gain the acceptance of others in difficult situations.
  • Strong information system skills that allow operational and strategic application of technology to enhance revenue cycle operations.
