The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class healthcare professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improve patients' health and clinical care. The Department of Internal Medicine is currently searching for a Division Director in the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy, and Immunology.
The Division Director will lead the division in alignment with our tripartite clinical care, research, and education missions. This individual will support robust residency and medical student training expectations and provide mentoring and administrative support to those delegated to direct this endeavor.
The Division Director will be expected to lead a team of academicians from varied backgrounds. They will need to be highly skilled in communication and relationship-building to support and motivate interdisciplinary teams, convey integrity, adapt to change, and empathize with patients.
Essential Functions Act as a mentor for junior faculty, research associates, and graduate students.
Develop a roadmap to expand clinical and basic science research in the division.
Develop a plan for the optimal utilization of Advanced Practice Providers.
Participation in strategic development conversations.
Setting clinical productivity targets for staff and fiscal oversight of division.
Setting annual academic, clinical, and research goals.
Participation in the Department of Internal Medicine Chair’s Council of Champions.
Faculty and staff recruitment/mentorship and conducting annual faculty reviews.
Meeting with departmental and administrative leaders.
Addressing concerns from staff, patients, providers, and others.
Collaborate with other departments to enhance multidisciplinary approaches and initiatives.
Support new initiatives and efforts that might expand beyond our local campus to surrounding areas or virtually.
Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements MD, DO, MD/PhD, or commensurate degree.
Board certification in Rheumatology or Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology.
At least 10 years of clinical experience, with demonstrated leadership and management experience at a medical facility.
Experience with communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and decision making.
Additional Qualifications Considered MBA and/or strong business acumen.
Previous success in building and leading a large, interdisciplinary team.
