Distribution Ops Process Engineering Director

As a Director of Process Engineering on our Supply Chain Distribution Operations team, you’ll be responsible for establishing and maintaining engineering standards, leveraging data to drive insights, and ensuring visibility into the impacts of distribution operations at a granular level. You will lead our efforts to understand and optimize building and network capacity to create a long-term network strategy. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.

This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work some days on-site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location. What you’ll do
Lead and mentor a team of engineers and analysts, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence while overseeing first-level support and configuration for warehouse systems, including WMS and LMS across Best Buy's small and large product networks
Develop, implement, and maintain Engineered Labor Standards to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency across Distribution Center workflows, while ensuring visibility from high-level metrics to detailed standards.
Utilize data analytics and conduct regular assessments to monitor performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making
Identify and implement process optimization opportunities and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness across the network
Measure and manage building and network capacities, including storage and throughput, to support enterprise growth plans—collaborating with partners like Decision Science and Category Enablement to shape long-term network strategy
Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Field Operations, Distribution Operations Support, Automation, Safety, Transportation, and Fulfillment to ensure alignment and achieve organizational goals
Basic qualifications
10 years of experience in supply chain engineering in roles involving engineered labor standard development and support, process improvement, layout optimization, and/or material handling equipment automation
5 years of experience creating and/or maintaining engineered labor standards program in a distribution environment
5 years of experience leading a team of engineers maintaining engineered labor standards in a distribution environment
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience)
Preferred qualifications
MBA, Masters Engineering, MOST certification (or equivalent time studies certification)
2 years of experience in distribution center operations which can include supervisor or other similar roles within a distribution center, or experience in a corporate distribution operations support role
2 years of experience managing large scale projects including facility construction or large material handling systems installations where multiple disparate groups are involved and require coordination
