The director should possess experience leading and guiding people through ideation and start-up stages of entrepreneurship, managing grant-funded programs, be highly-organized, be comfortable adhering and maintaining all WCC policies and procedures, and be willing to collaborate across teams to contribute to the goals and objectives of the institution.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide hands-on leadership and oversight of the EC’s offerings and day-to-day activities
Manage administrative functions of the center, including but not limited to programs, signature events, sponsorships, networking opportunities, and coaching to maintain a rich semester-long calendar of learning opportunities on an annual basis
Maintain and adhere to the EC’s and WCC’s processes and procedures, fiscal management, staffing, and governance.
Identify, select, train, and manage high-quality staff to carry out the work and responsibilities of the EC.
Direct the intake process and manage client relationships with the center
Attract, consult, and determine individualized paths for entrepreneurial growth for EC’s clients
Serve as spokesperson for the EC during workshops and information sessions within and outside WCC
Propose programs and partnerships, and maintain an active calendar of activities for students
Propose collaborations with on-campus and off-campus partners
Identify, cultivate, and maintain a network of professional contacts to serve the WCC’s goals and objectives
Collaborate with faculty and staff in related areas to propose programs and co-curricular activities
Reach key measures and maintain controls for all center activities
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
At least five years of experience leading and guiding people through business ideation and start-up stages of entrepreneurship and/or venture creation.
At least five years of successful business management and reporting
Proven experience in conceptualizing, planning, and executing events, programs, and/or resources that align with an organization’s strategic goals.
Possess the ability to work with a diverse range of people, including students, faculty, trainers, Experience identifying sponsorships to work collaboratively with WCC departments and community partners
Highly organized, goal-driven, and comfortable adhering to and maintaining all WCC policies and procedures
Passionate about business start-ups
Action-oriented and rapid response problem-solver who can manage multiple projects, on time, and with great accuracy
Ability to work collaboratively across campus departments
Willing to work weekends and evenings, when needed
Excellent written and oral communication skills
