Office Profile: The Division of University Advancement is responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of external communications and all fundraising and friendraising activities, including alumni and family relations, church & community relations, as well as corporate and foundation relations. University Advancement is an integral part of the university's ministry and outreach. The University engages in annual and multi-year comprehensive campaigns supporting academic programs, capital projects, endowments, planned gifts and student aid. Vision 2025 and the Golden Eagle Athletics Initiative are two such initiatives. Role: The Director-Assistant III is responsible for developing donor relationships and solicitation strategies among mid-range annual donors and prospects and major gift prospects. Working with the Advancement team and select University staff and faculty, the Director-Assistant III will devise marketing strategies and outreach opportunities to attract mid-range and major gift prospects. They will place a major emphasis on the development and cultivation of new prospects and the stewardship of assigned donors. All activities of this position are to make a contribution to the fulfillment of the mission of the university. Must be available to travel and spend periods away from home and the office. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to accomplish each of the below duties satisfactorily: Identify new annual donors and major donor prospects. Develop and implement strategies to introduce, cultivate and solicit gifts. Assist university-wide efforts to identify, cultivate and solicit major donors. Implement major gift initiatives for campus-wide priorities. With members of the Development Team, vet donors and prospects through methods of discovery, to determine donor viability and capacity. Build and manage a portfolio of 150 potential and current mid-range ($1,000+) annual donors and prospects, as well as major gift ($10,000+) prospects and donors. Develop, write and implement strategies to acquire new individual donors. Personally visit and cultivate 20+ prospects or donors per month, solicit prospects and donors for gifts and pledges as appropriate. Solicit multi-year pledges to priority capital, endowment, and annual projects. Assist with planning, organizing and developing strategies for successful donor and prospective donor events. Assist in the identification and recruitment of new volunteer leaders for various university governance and advisory boards and committees such as the Foundation Board of Trustees, the President's Advisory Council, and the Alumni Board. Participate in Advancement-sponsored donor cultivation events; attend university cultural and sporting events; and promote/represent the university as needed among a variety of constituencies. Available to travel. Other duties as may be assigned from time to time. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, master's preferred, and three to five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Full Time Staff, Exempt $78,500 - 87,000/yr Health, vision, dental, and life insurances. Retirement plans with employer matching.
