About the Role The Director of Wine and Spirits is responsible for strategically improving the selection of Wine & Spirits showcased at Ocean Casino Resort.
Position Responsibilities Assists with Wine & Spirits service in all Ocean Casino Resort venues where appropriate.
Is an expert in specialized Wine Service & is able to execute all aspects in VIP/high-profile situations.
Makes recommendations for stemware & other service items that will enhance Wine & Spirits program.
Will leverage supplier partnerships to establish a property-wide strategy in line with program vision.
Builds over time access to allocated items through buying patterns allowing access to rare & hard-to-find items.
Works closely with operations team to ensure correct receiving, storage & inventory protocols are being followed.
Inspects all storage areas & makes recommendations for maintenance & upkeep of the Wine & Spirits inventory.
Works closely with Purchasing Team & Beverage Specialist for requisitions & warehousing where appropriate.
Oversees all Wine Lists, Spirits Lists & Cocktail Menus accurately reflect inventory & are proofed regularly.
Works with all venues on seasonal Cocktail Menu changes.
Trains all venue management on Wine & Spirits service.
Will lead trainings for hourly team members on Wine & Spirits service & technique.
Develops concepts for & subsequently plans & executes wine seminars & other wine & spirits related dinners for the public and/or casino events.
Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions Exposure to casino related environmental factors including but not limited to secondhand smoke, excessive noise, and stress related to servicing customers in a high pressure and fast paced environment
Must be able to stand and walk for an entire shift and be able to move throughout the Casino/Hotel areas
Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts and/or unusual hours.
Must be able to lift to 50 lbs
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or five years related Wine/Beverage management experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must have extensive knowledge of wines and wine characteristics along with food and wine pairing

Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $81,400 - $105,800 annually. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including experience and expertise and may vary from the amount listed above.
