Job Description The Director of US Commercial Advanced Analytics (within Gilead’s Liver Integrated Insights team) will be responsible for leading insight generation and strategic thought partnership for multiple brands in the Liver franchise. This high-impact individual contributor role will manage projects of significant complexity requiring cross-functional collaboration and will participate in shaping the roadmap for the US Advanced Analytics function across business units.
Key Functions Strategic Planning & Brand Performance Tracking
Lead development of data-based insights to inform brand, franchise, and business unit strategy and execution.
Lead performance/KPI development and reporting, including best practice sharing across TAs, enabling understanding of brand performance and opportunities based on inputs.
Collaborate with brand marketing leadership to establish an annual business analytics plan by brand.
Leverage data and analytics to develop key insights to inform each brand’s strategy through the BPOA (Brand Plan of Action) process.
Conduct analytics projects to inform business issues (MD and patient segmentation, customer journey and treatment flow analytics, sampling strategy and analytics, etc.).
Performance reporting and diagnostics, including HQ-facing dashboards and reports.
Evaluate potential new secondary data sources and analytics methodologies to elevate impact of business analytics.
Actionable Insights
Lead integration of insights from various sources to inform material decisions and deliver robust opportunities and market context.
Provide objective quantitative analyses and develop business cases for opportunities and critical business issues for the brand/TA.
Collaborate within the department to integrate business analytics context into Tactic Measurement and Marketing Mix work, and inform Forecasting; identify opportunities to integrate AI/Predictive Analytics Lab capabilities.
Stakeholder Management
Interact with VP-level executives, brand, marketing, and IT stakeholders.
Establish and maintain relationships with key segments of the Commercial organization; demonstrate understanding of internal customers’ business needs.
Serve as a cross-functional subject matter expert and seek advice on decisions impacting business operations.
Lead quarterly functional reviews with key VPs, Senior Directors, and stakeholders to share insights on business, brand, and market issues.
Demonstrate project leadership and management including planning, prioritization, objective setting, and execution.
Manage external consulting resources from a project delivery perspective.
Advanced Analytics
Identify business challenges and use cases to drive value with non-traditional analytical approaches; drive AI and predictive analytics to improve US Commercial strategy and operations.
Collaborate with BU, brand marketing, and Commercial Operations teams to identify use cases for AI and new analytics approaches (e.g., next best action, dynamic targeting, patient journey prediction, marketing mix optimization, personalized training).
QualificationsBasic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and 12 Years’ Experience OR Master’s Degree and 10 Years’ Experience OR PhD and 8 Years’ Experience
Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 12 years of analytical experience managing projects and high-visibility initiatives.
MBA/Master’s in healthcare, general management, analytics, or data sciences preferred.
Pharmaceutical or consumer insights experience highly desirable.
Ability to develop strategic guidance for brand teams from multiple data sources.
Strong business/mar Comet acumen and excellent communication; consultative background preferred.
Proven ability to work in a matrix team environment and drive business action.
Experience with pharmaceutical data sources (e.g., IMS, Symphony Health).
Strong working knowledge of MS Office, Tableau, Databricks, etc.

Compensation & Benefits Salary range varies by location:
Bay Area: $226,185.00 - $292,710.00; Other US Locations: $205,615.00 - $266,090.00. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, discretionary bonus, stock-based incentives, paid time off, and a benefits package.
