Growing Investment Advisory & Tax Accounting Firm Seeks Tax Division Executive Vice President to join their Team
This position offers a unique blend of leadership and hands-on involvement in day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate is passionate about mentorship, client service, and delivering high-quality tax strategies in collaboration with our Wealth Management team.
As a senior leader within the organization, you will oversee the tax departments operations, supervise staff, and work closely with the CEO and executive leadership team to align tax planning with holistic financial goals. This role also offers the potential for equity participation for CPAs with an existing book of business.
Key Responsibilities :
Team Leadership & Supervision:
Supervise and mentor staff accountants, administrative personnel, and bookkeeping members.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to team members.
Tax Operations Management:
Lead all daily operations within the tax department including workflow processes, communication, technology usage, and client deliverables.
Ensure efficient, accurate, and timely completion of client engagements.
Drive process improvements and implement best practices to streamline operations.
Client-Facing Responsibilities:
Review complex individual, trust, and business tax returns prepared by staff for accuracy and compliance.
Approve completed tax return packages for final review and client signature.
Prepare individual & business returns during peak seasons or as needed to support the team.
Strategic Tax Planning & Collaboration:
Collaborate with financial planners and advisors within the Wealth Management division to integrate tax strategies into comprehensive financial plans.
Review or develop complex tax plans that maximize client savings while remaining compliant with current regulations.
Provide strategic guidance to high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and fiduciary clients.
Executive Leadership:
Serve as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, reporting directly to the CEO.
Contribute to overall business strategy and provide insights related to tax law changes and their impact on the firms service model.
Collaborate with the executive team to drive firm-wide initiatives and client satisfaction.
Experience/Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in accounting or taxation with relevant work experience, preferably Taxation
CPA required
10+ years of progressive experience in tax preparation, review personal & business tax.
Experience with UltraTax software a plus.
