Job Summary: The Director assumes 24-hour responsibility and accountability for nursing care in areas of responsibility. The position requires knowledge and skill of professional nursing theory and practice, leadership in administration, principles of effective teaching, learning and mentoring, fiscal management, and effective interpersonal relationships and communication. The Director assumes responsibility for care of patients as they move through the areas of responsibility and into their next level of care. The Director provides leadership and support to charge nurse staff, clinical educators and clinical staff using creative leadership to ensure best outcomes, in high quality compassionate patient and family care. The Director works with medical staff and other health care professionals collaboratively. The Director ensures development, implementation and evaluation of policies, programs and services consistent with the organization’s mission, vision, values, and strategic objectives. Education: Position requires a bachelor's degree. Registration/Certification/Licensure: Registered Nurse - State Experience: Position requires 3-5 years related experience. Other Requirements: Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements. Must be RN licensed in MD. Previous or management experience required.
