We are seeking an experienced Director, Supplier Quality Engineering to lead supplier quality assurance and management functions across multiple manufacturing sites. In this high-impact leadership role, you’ll guide a team of Supplier Quality Managers and Engineers, strengthen partnerships with key suppliers, and drive improvements that ensure compliance, performance, and reliability in medical device manufacturing.
What You’ll Do Lead and mentor a team of Supplier Quality Managers and SQEs across U.S. and Puerto Rico sites. Develop strategic supplier quality initiatives to strengthen long-term relationships and improve performance. Ensure suppliers meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and performance objectives . Oversee supplier changes to products and processes, while monitoring continuous improvement efforts. Drive supplier audits, investigations, and risk assessments to mitigate compliance and quality issues. Guide the design, development, and qualification of new materials, processes, and products from concept through market release. Direct feasibility studies, design validation, and documentation processes throughout the product lifecycle. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and consultants to ensure timely delivery and operational excellence. Provide strategic leadership through coaching, performance management, and prioritization of departmental initiatives. Travel up to 25% to support supplier sites and cross-functional alignment.
What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree required (advanced degree preferred). 10+ years of relevant Supplier Quality Engineering and Manufacturing experience (internal & external). 7+ years of managerial experience leading technical teams. Strong knowledge of medical device quality systems, supplier management, and regulatory requirements . Proven success in developing supplier partnerships, driving performance improvements, and managing audits. Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
