You will be a Director in our Build Capability in the Americas, working part of a network how we bring this to life with our customers in the DC/Chesapeake market. You will drive sales and successfully delivery of outcomes for clients across the product lifecycle as we build and modernize digital products, accelerate with on‑demand expertise, and optimize their technology platforms and organizations.
What You’ll Do
- Execute region or country‑wide Capability GTM strategy with market needs, acting as a subject‑matter expert and thought leader collaborating with industry partners to identify and win new customer opportunities.
- Lead go‑to‑market activities, including speaking opportunities, thought‑leadership events, campaigns, RFIs, RFPs, workshops, and POCs to ignite specific opportunities.
- Collaborate with industry‑aligned client partners and sales executives to pursue technology‑led outcomes, acting as a solution lead or SME in the pursuit process.
- Participate in multi‑capability solutioning and client‑outcome based selling motions with GTM team.
- Engage in market‑specific capability rhythm of business for hiring, staffing, and workforce planning.
- Lead individuals through direct and indirect reporting relationships to scale GTM focus and results.
- Contribute to delivery as a delivery solution lead or SME within the Build Capability with a defined utilization target.
- Collaborate with Capability leadership to achieve forecasted revenue targets and adjust strategy when necessary.
Go to Market Approach
- Create demand by proactively seeking speaking opportunities as an SME and thought leader at external conferences and events.
- Support Slalom‑led thought leadership events in the context of Capability and related client outcomes.
- Ignite awareness and generate demand for capability and related client outcomes in the market; lead campaigns, RFIs, RFPs, workshops, and POCs.
- Research client portfolio needs and adjust focus to topics of resonance; focus on building client relationships at target and active client portfolio.
Business Development & Sales
- Partner with industry‑aligned client partners and sales executives to identify and pursue potential opportunities related to technology‑led outcomes.
- Act as a solution lead or SME in pursuit process, identifying appropriate SME from broader capability team as needed.
- Participate in multi‑capability solutioning and client outcome‑based selling motions with GTM team.
- Collaborate with peers in other markets and regions to evolve GTM approach.
Resource Pipeline
- Participate in market‑specific and capability‑specific rhythm of business for hiring, staffing, workforce planning; participate in planning process for market dedicated capability pool.
People Development
- Lead individuals through direct and indirect reporting relationships to scale GTM focus and results in the market.
- Have responsibility for an organizational tree that will include team members across levels within a Build discipline of expertise.
- Act as mentor to other practitioners in area of capability working to serve market’s portfolio.
- Participate in performance management via providing feedback on capability team members assigned to market’s pursuits and delivery.
Delivery Management
- Contribute to delivery via billable roles as delivery solution lead and/or in SME roles within market’s portfolio.
- Engage as a leader within a discipline within the Build Capability, such as software engineering, solution ownership, quality engineering, intelligence engineering, platform engineering.
Financial Management
- Work with GTM leader and broader capability leadership to contribute to capability specific growth and cost projections.
- Work to achieve forecast against revenue targets.
- Work proactively with market and regional or Americas capability leadership to identify when a capability is unhealthy at market level to adjust strategy.

- Product Engineering – Extensive experience working with product engineering organizations in either industry or professional services, leading cross‑discipline teams with Agile methodologies.
- Accelerated Engineering with AI – Understanding of how AI is changing the software development industry with perspectives on how roles are changing and how teams can work and evolve.
- Enhance and Operate – Extends teams into production with modern operations, using techniques such as Site Reliability Engineering to enhance and operate digital product and solutions.
- Team‑Based Delivery at Scale – Leverages experience delivering engineering projects using scale teaming models and partners, including nearshore and offshore teams.
- Product Mindset – Has a product mindset with experience and approaches to product strategy, ability to work with customers and teams around the outcome they are trying to achieve and shaping product and technology roadmaps.
- Working with Partners – Works with AWS, Microsoft, Google and other top partners in a sales or delivery motion; understanding of how to co‑sell.
- Inspirational Leadership – Demonstrates forward‑looking strategic and critical thinking, connection to market’s needs.
- Proactive GTM Mentality – Builds relationships and opportunities to proactively build pipeline; does not wait for sales/client partners to create leads.
- Grow Slalom Mindset – Acts as an external speaker at events; speaks to customer CXOs as a peer with credibility and confidence.
- Collaboration – Has strong ability to collaborate across different teams and organization.

Compensation And Benefits
Slalom prides itself on helping team members thrive in their work and life. Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, at the Director level, the base salary pay range is $175,000‑281,000. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
