The Team
As a member of the Financial Controllership Team, the incumbent will be involved in shaping the future of the organization, supporting both the on-going growth and analysis within the Investment Controllership team and other key initiatives.
The Impact
As director & lead of Reporting department for Controllers, you will execute, lead and manage Reporting team by ensuring accurate, timely completion & insightful external & internal reporting and presentation to various senior management and stakeholders for quarterly and annual accounting close cycles by effectively planning, monitoring, and problem solving. You will be responsible for all things Reporting that include quarterly Yellow & Blue Books review for all companies as well as investment performance presentation. The overall responsibilities would include SPOC for reporting needs for the entire Controller organization, liaison with Financial Reporting team, internal & external, auditors, internal control, and other stakeholders. This would also involve oversight & execution of accounting and regulatory changes as well as benchmarking and peer analysis for reporting domain. You will also contribute to various initiative work focusing on increasing efficiency and adding value, while continuing to develop your project management skills, hone your skills in investment product accounting and related financial impacts. Your daily/monthly responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
SPOC for reporting matters related to Investment & related assets & liabilities
Leadership and collaboration with Financial Reporting team, extended Controller organization, Investment Operations, Reporting, and other stakeholders and responsible to provide timely, accurate, complete & insightful data analysis, reporting & presentation
Lead the team and design, implement and execute roles and responsibilities of the department
Coach, mentor, train and positively engage the team and stakeholders for cohesive reporting strategy for the Controller & CFO organization
Oversight our NAIC regulatory reporting including NAIC Schedules (schedule A, B, D, E etc) and STAT financial statement, notes to the financial and related work for all insurance companies
Oversight of US GAAP of consolidated and subsidiaries financials & notes
Review and oversight of internal Quarterly Management Report and other monthly reports
Ensure appropriate presentation and completeness of all reporting deliverables and timely execution of internal controls and liaison & coordination of PBCs & audit workpapers & queries
Oversight of GAAP, STAT, TAX & other accounting basis of reconciliation framework & controls
Oversight of consolidation, foreign exchange & translation, Non-Control Intertest, Other Comprehensive Income, Cash flows and relevant disclosures for financials
Lead team for timely and accurate monthly \ quarterly \ annual closes related
Monitors, market, industry and peers’ trends in financial reporting as it relates to insurance industry and cohesively transmit to the CFO group
Lead and participate in re-engineering & improvement projects for Credit & Valuation
The Minimum Qualifications
8+ years of experience in STAT, US GAAP & management reporting in insurance industry
Bachelor’s degree in finance or business or related field
The Ideal Qualifications
10+ years of experience in STAT, US GAAP & management reporting in insurance industry
CPA is preferred
Experienced with Data Analytics, big data & trends with presentation and reporting
Experienced with multi-layer consolidation, matrix organization, and best practices
Candidate must have advanced data management skills including proficiency in MS Excel, SAP, Micro Strategy and general data flow of industry from trade to reporting
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with emotional intelligence are essential
Independent, self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to multi-task, sound judgement to deal with and manage conflicting priorities
Cohesive, concise and clear communication and presentation style with ability to adapt & change

Salary Range:
$137,800.00-$180,800.00
