Terracon’s South Florida region is looking for a Director of Regional Operations (DRO) to oversee the operations of its 7 engineering consulting project offices. The DRO provides broad guidance to develop and implement each office’s strategic and operational plans, fostering growth and technical competence. The role involves directing projects and clients, as well as monitoring the operational and financial performance of the offices.

Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Pt. St. Lucie, Ft. Myers, Sarasota, Tampa, or Winter Park. Essential Roles and Responsibilities Oversee the operations of multiple offices within the region, supporting various service lines such as Environmental, Geotechnical, Facilities, and Materials, with an aggregate booked labor revenue exceeding approximately $30 million and about 150 employees. Develop and execute regional business plans; assist Operations Managers in setting short and long-term goals annually. Monitor financial results and assist in corrective actions to meet financial objectives. Support office growth aligned with the strategic plan. Assist the Senior Vice President of Operations or COO in implementing strategic initiatives. Oversee and guide Operations Managers in employee lifecycle management, including recruitment, performance management, and discipline, in consultation with senior leadership. Address client issues, assist with legal matters, and keep senior management informed. Guide project and client development, ensuring resource availability for marketing efforts. Mentor Operations Managers and lead organizational change initiatives. Manage project risks, ensure contract compliance, and enforce risk policies. Promote safety initiatives and ensure adherence to safety standards. Oversee quality monitoring and continuous improvement on projects. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related technical discipline, with 12 years of related experience, or 16 years of experience without a degree. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to travel up to 20%.
