The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview: Directs the hospital wide Quality, Safety and HRO initiatives. Serves as the lead and coordination efforts for our quality programs, high reliability journey, safety behaviors, and patient experience. Monitors experience scores and assists the VP and hospital leadership in the planning and implementation of tactics, methods and work plans. Identifies areas of opportunity for improvement, champions the development of policies and procedures. Assists leaders in the management and follow up of the patient/family grievance process and ensures timely responses while identifying trends; will serve as an electronic incident reporting administrator. Serves as an internal consultant in education and training for HRO behaviors and encourages employee recognition and engagement. In collaboration with leaders, mentors and grows the safety coach program. Represents NBIMC & CHoNJ as the liaison for quality and experience system meetings and strategies. Qualifications: Required: A minimum of a bachelor's degree. NJ RN current and active licensure At least five years' experience in nursing within the hospital setting. Experience with quality improvement, quality management, NJDOH patient safety reporting and HRO behaviors, CPHQ or CPPS preferred, or achieved within two years of hire. Preferred Master's degree Scheduling Requirements: Full-Time Day 8-5 Essential Functions: Utilizes HRO principles and continuous quality improvement in all work situations Seeks feedback and recommendations from others to improve the quality, processes and services Contributes to improving quality services and productivity takes the initiative to continually evaluate one's work, report problems, suggest solutions and try new ideas Effectively allocates and schedules resources Able to project and appropriately staff the unit/department to effectively function to demand Utilizes resources, both labor and non-labor to maximize efficiency and quality Adheres to budgetary guidelines and targets-proactively manages budget variances and causes Determines priorities and organizes work and time to meet them Follows sound employee retention techniques; effective selection and interviewing, recognition, fair and timely discipline, and ongoing performance feedback Interacts constructively , tactfully and diplomatically with others and resolves conflicts effectively Demonstrates cultural competency and ability to maintain a diverse workforce Completes tasks and assignments in a timely, accurate and efficient manner Remains positive and focused despite obstacles and setbacks Demonstrates a sense of urgency in completing assignments Organizes multiple assignments and/or projects simultaneously to accomplish goals Facilitate cause analyses, ACAs/RCAs and proactive risk Facilitate cause analyses, ACAs/RCAs and proactive risk assessments in collaboration with key stakeholders Plans and conducts meetings with department leaders to review trends and strategies to improve quality, safety, and the patient and employee experience Serves as a lead for the safety coach program and coaches Mentors and develops new coaches as they are recruited Meets monthly with safety coaches to strategize and implement programs Supports the AVP and VP in organizing data and activities Supports the quality leadership in organizing data and activities related to Leapfrog and USNWR submissions, Proactively assesses quality and safety performance as it relates to publicly reported metrics and CMS stars e.g., PSIs, HACs Analyze all data available to us such as HCAHPS, Verge Data, Comment reports, etc, to make the necessary changes in the evolving healthcare industry and adjust to the trends, Benefits and Perks: At RWJBarnabas Health, our employees are at the heart of everything we do.
