Summary:

The Director of Programming and Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic execution, oversight, and continuous improvement of The FLY Initiative's educational programs and internal operations. This individual will ensure the fidelity, growth, and impact of FLY's personal finance education model across all markets, while supporting cross-functional collaboration and operational efficiency within the organization. The Director will lead program design, implementation, data-driven performance evaluation, and staff management across departments.

Essential Duties:

Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.

• Lead the design, development, and execution of FLY's personal finance and youth-centered education programs

• Ensure curriculum fidelity, program scalability, and impact through strategic planning and innovation

• Oversee quality assurance protocols, ensuring programs meet equity, accessibility, and pedagogical standards

• Supervise program managers, coordinators, and instructional teams

• Set performance goals, provide professional development, and foster a collaborative team culture

• Build internal capacity to scale programs effectively across multiple states

• Oversee and enhance internal operational systems and workflows to optimize program delivery

• Collaborate with the finance team to develop and manage program budgets

• Develop standard operating procedures and knowledge management tools

• Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with schools, community partners, funders, and government agencies

• Represent FLY in key external meetings and forums

• Support grant reporting and data-sharing needs

• Lead the monitoring and evaluation framework for all programmatic activities

• Analyze program performance data to inform strategic decisions

• Produce internal and external reporting aligned with funder and organizational impact metrics

• Identify opportunities for program innovation and geographic expansion

• Lead pilots and strategic initiatives to explore new frontiers in financial literacy education

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Director, Programming and Operations supervises program managers, coordinators, and instructional teams.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration, Public Policy, or related field; Master's degree preferred

• Minimum of 7–10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in program management, nonprofit operations, or education

• Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional teams, budgets, and data systems

• Strong knowledge of financial education, youth development, or social impact work

Language Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders

Mathematical Skills:

• Budget development and financial oversight

• Data analysis and performance measurement

Reasoning Ability:

• Strategic thinking and problem-solving

• Ability to align operations with organizational goals

Computer Skills:

• Proficiency in program data tracking and reporting tools

• Knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM systems is a plus
