Overview

Director, Product Strategy at Salesforce. The Product Strategy team helps the executive leadership and product leadership with plans for the next wave of product bets to drive organic and inorganic growth. We are looking for a Director of Product Strategy to join our team to help build winning strategies for the entire Salesforce portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute product strategies that address key customer challenges and drive significant business value.
  • Partner with product leaders across the portfolio to inform roadmaps and deliver against strategic plans.
  • Create financial models to forecast revenue, define key performance metrics, and build business cases for new opportunities.
  • Support Technology & Product Leaders in presenting insights and summaries of strategic plans to the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors.
  • Analyze product performance at the portfolio level and provide data-driven recommendations to optimize resource allocation and investment.
  • Inform strategic trade-offs and guide senior leadership on resource allocation to maximize long‑term growth and profitability.
  • Participate in the M&A process by articulating product strategy, defining deal theses, modeling potential synergies, and driving alignment across Technology and Product leadership during evaluations.
  • Stay current on market trends and conduct competitive research to identify opportunities and sustainable market advantages.
  • Coach and mentor Product Managers and the Product Strategy team to foster strategic thinking and collaborative problem-solving.

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in strategy consulting or product management/marketing/strategy at a high tech company, ideally in enterprise software.
  • Ability to develop disruptive strategies by digging into new technologies and applying cross‑industry learnings.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills; able to build relationships across Salesforce to drive results.
  • Experience in M&A strategy, synergy modeling, and deal thesis articulation is a plus.
  • Experience with market research (qualitative and quantitative) and leading projects.
  • Hands-on financial analysis and modeling; proficient with Excel and reporting tools.
  • MBA is a plus, but exceptional candidates without an MBA will also be considered.

Location and Hybrid Work

This role is hybrid for individuals who live within 50 miles of hub locations posted (Indianapolis, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Seattle) and would go to the office 3 days a week. Remote status applies to candidates residing 50+ miles from these offices.
