Position Summary The Director, People Strategy & Ops (People Enablement) will serve as a strategic partner and program leader within the Walmart US People organization. This leader is responsible for setting strategic direction that enables our people officers and business to successfully lead people strategic initiatives, organizational planning, and high impact people programs. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of strategic thinking, operational excellence, and deep HR acumen to support the evolving needs of the business, with a focus on scalable solutions, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration.
What you'll do Act as a trusted advisor to Senior People leaders, aligning people strategies with business goals and driving enterprise-wide talent initiatives.
Lead organizational design and workforce planning efforts in partnership with business leaders to optimize structure, capabilities, and performance.
Support People Team and Business Unit organizational planning, including collaboration on executive-level org design and strategic workforce initiatives.
Proactively identify needs for the WMUS people organization that help to drive smooth delivery of people programs and initiatives.
Cyclical People Processes
Set the strategy for execution of people programs across Walmart US business area ensuring alignment with Walmart US People priorities.
Lead end-to-end program management for key people initiatives such as performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, associate engagement, and Annual Operating Plan.
Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and stakeholder communications to ensure timely and effective delivery of cyclical people programs.
AI & Technology-Driven People Solutions
Champion the development and integration of AI and digital tools into people processes to enhance talent acquisition, development, and workforce planning.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed AI solutions into existing systems and improve employee experience.
Data-Driven Decision Making
Analyze workforce data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities; translate insights into compelling narratives and actionable strategies.
Partner with senior leaders to inform decisions through dashboards, reporting, and predictive analytics.
Process Optimization & Change Leadership
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness of people programs.
Navigate and influence cross-functional stakeholders, driving alignment and impact across HR, Tech, Finance, and Business Operations.
Lead change management efforts to support organizational transformation and the adoption of new ways of working.
Leadership
Ability to lead through large scale organizational change initiatives, with a willingness to adapt to changes in strategic direction.
Lead a team of Sr. Managers that drive people strategic initiatives and cyclical programs for individual WMUS business units.
Clearly communicate needs across the WMUS people organization and drive solutions through strategic partnership and collaboration.
What you’ll bring
10+ years of experience in HR/People Partner, People Strategy, management consulting or advisory roles.
Proven track record shaping and executing large-scale organizational strategies, with experience advising senior leaders and guiding complex transformations in dynamic, matrixed environments.
Strong project management skills with experience in agile environments.
Demonstrated success in organizational design, workforce planning, and strategic partnership.
Experience with AI-driven solutions and digital transformation is a plus.
Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Growth mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Stock.
