Summary The Director, Outreach & Operations, is a strategic leader responsible for building relationships with constituents and donors, expanding community reach, managing volunteers, and aligning activities with organizational goals. The role focuses on increasing efficiency, engagement, and supporter growth, supporting revenue generation and community activation, and leading a team of Community Engagement managers and Operations staff across the territory.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcquisition, Activation & Fundraising (40%) Develop strategies to build the supporter pipeline via programs like Bag of Hope and Pack, following national guidelines.
Expand CE resources across the territory, including healthcare provider engagement, using data dashboards and relationship building.
Achieve territory acquisition and engagement goals, supporting broader organizational targets.
Create opportunities for community engagement, including events and volunteer activities, to deepen support and activation.
Oversee fundraising activities, including events, donor tracking, and acknowledgments.
Volunteer Management (30%) Recruit and manage volunteer leaders, providing training and resources.
Ensure meaningful volunteer engagement and develop leadership within volunteer teams.
Awareness (20%) Promote the organization's mission and research therapeutics within the community.
Lead community engagement strategies, including resource dissemination, events, and media placements.
Administration (10%) Maintain policies and participate in strategic planning meetings.
Partner with national programs to set goals and monitor KPIs.
Qualifications 5+ years in community engagement, with supervisory experience and success in community initiatives and fundraising.
Strong relationship-building skills and experience managing volunteers and community programs.
High energy, integrity, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in MS Office and database management.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Willingness to travel within the territory, including some evenings and weekends.
Additional Details Salary: $80,000 base. The physical demands include typical office activities, with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. The work environment is usually moderate noise. Breakthrough T1D is committed to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity employment.
