Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. This includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management, as well as demand, supply, and manufacturing planning. Job Summary The Director, Operations Management, is a site leader role with oversight responsibilities for Cardinal Health 3PL Warehouse Operations and Packaging Services. This job is responsible for leading an internal team and ultimately partnering with pharmaceutical manufacturer clientele to provide outsourced packaging, warehousing, and distribution services. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm Responsibilities Directs and oversees overall program functions and associated activities for 3PL Warehouse Operations and Packaging Services. Participates in prospective client sales presentations, leads facility tours, and assists in determining programs and services required to support client requirements. Coordinates daily activities of warehouse operations and packaging services; ensures proper infrastructure, facilities, equipment, and training to support operations and production staff. Reports on efficiency and productivity metrics; ensures operations are completed in compliance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and EHS guidelines. Coordinates departmental activities through planning with management to ensure total objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner. Builds relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturer clients, regulatory agencies (FDA, NABP), and auditors; supports tours and audits as needed. Applies broad knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry trends, and best practices in a manner that ensures quality service and achievement of agreed-upon results. Ensures collaboration with other functional areas, establishing effective working relationships with internal business partners. Implements cost-effective systems of control over operating expenditures, administrative and analytic systems, training, and staffing; identifies opportunities to improve current processes and evolve best practice governance. Qualifications 15+ years of pharmaceutical packaging experience, required; CFR Part 211, Code of Federal Regulations Current Good Manufacturing Practice for finished pharmaceuticals. 15+ years of leadership experience, preferred. Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred. Excellent communication skills. Experience working directly with pharmaceutical manufacturers, external vendors, and regulatory agencies. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Decisions have an extended impact on work processes, outcomes, and customers. Interacts with internal leaders and external clients, including senior management, auditors, and regulatory agencies. Persuades others into agreement in sensitive situations while maintaining positive relationships. Collaborates with internal teams and external clients to identify and resolve process non-compliance through root cause analysis and CAPA closure. Assists in the development of client pricing proposals and fee structures. Conducts performance evaluations and provides one-on-one feedback to encourage team members’ development; creates performance improvement plans for staff and administers discipline when necessary. Participates in the interviewing and selection of new team members as needed. Supports Facilities Security, Maintenance, and Temperature Monitoring procedures and on-call response as needed.
