Position Summary The Director of Operations, Cardiac Imaging provides strategic and operational leadership for all cardiac imaging services within the Health First Medical Group (HFMG) ambulatory and outpatient settings. The Director oversees the delivery of timely, high-quality, cost-effective cardiovascular diagnostic services including echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac CT, MRI, vascular imaging, and stress testing.
Reporting to the Vice President of Cardiovascular Services, the Director partners with Cardiology and Radiology leadership, IDN stakeholders, and hospital operations to optimize workflows, improve patient access, support regulatory compliance, and lead initiatives that promote quality outcomes, growth, and patient experience.
Primary Responsibilities Oversees daily operations for outpatient HFMG cardiac imaging sites, ensuring optimal patient scheduling, resource allocation, and throughput for safe and effective care.
Leads operational readiness for expansion, renovations, equipment upgrades, and new service launches in coordination with Radiology and Facilities.
Monitors productivity, equipment utilization, and reimbursement trends to ensure cost-effective service delivery, identifying opportunities for improvement.
Ensures compliance with accreditation standards (ICAEL, ICANL, ACR), TJC, and HFMG quality benchmarks.
Partners with licensed practitioners and quality teams to implement best practices and documentation workflows, fostering high-quality and safe patient care.
Collaborates with scheduling, front office, and patient access teams to enhance the patient experience.
Develops workflows for same-day add-ons, reduced wait times, and improved communication with referring practitioners.
Coordinates communication with clinical teams to ensure timely study delivery and interpretation.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
At least 3 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience.
No licensure or certification required.
Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree (MHA, MBA) in Healthcare or Business Administration.
Leadership experience in imaging, cardiology, or diagnostic services.
Experience with Epic Radiant, Epic Cupid, PACS, or similar systems.
Licensure in Allied Health (e.g., RDCS, RVT, RT, RCIS).
Certifications in LEAN, Six Sigma, or process improvement.
Knowledge of CMS guidelines and accreditation standards (ACR, ICAEL, IAC).
Physical Requirements Sitting or standing for most of the day; occasional walking, bending, lifting (up to 20 lbs).
Work involves computer use, varied environments, and travel within facilities.
