Wilkes University invites applicants for a full-time Director of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing and directing the University's program of grants and sponsored research. This position reports directly to the Provost. The Director will work closely with academic leaders, faculty, and staff across campus to foster an environment that facilitates the University's continued commitment to research. Duties include outreach by designing and implementing programs to increase external support for faculty, interpreting applicable federal/and/or state laws and regulations regarding grant implementation, serving on the University's IRB, and providing, as required, faculty and staff compliance training. An understanding of federal regulations and agency guidelines for grants management and sponsored research, including NSF, US DOE, NIH, NEA, and NEH is preferred. The Director oversees two full-time financial and compliance coordinators and works with external consultants as needed. Given the nature of this position, there is an opportunity for a hybrid/remote work format that requires minimal time on campus. A bachelor's degree is required but a master's degree is preferred. The position requires at least 5 years related experience preferably in higher education. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
