MUSC Health is seeking an experienced nursing leader to serve as the onsite Director of Women’s Services for the Pee Dee region based at the MUSC Florence Medical Center. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for Labor & Delivery, Newborn Nursery, and the Level II NICU, ensuring excellence in patient care, staff engagement, and clinical outcomes.

About the Role The Director of Women’s Services at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center will provide strategic and operational leadership for Labor & Delivery, the Newborn Nursery, and the Level II NICU. Overseeing a team of more than 65 caregivers and approximately 1,000 deliveries annually, this leader will be responsible for ensuring excellence in patient care, quality outcomes, and staff engagement. The role includes driving clinical performance, fostering collaborative relationships with physicians and hospital leadership, managing budgets and staffing, and advancing service line growth to meet the needs of women and families across the Pee Dee region.

Lead Women’s Services programs, including a 20-bed LDRP unit, 2 ORs, and 11 licensed NICU beds Oversee ~1,000 annual deliveries and a team of 65+ caregivers, OB/GYN physicians, lactation consultants, and support staff Drive quality, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives Collaborate with physicians, hospital executives, and community partners to strengthen relationships and grow market share Manage budgets, staffing models, recruitment, and retention strategies to ensure operational efficiency Champion patient and family experience, staff development, and engagement

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred Current RN license (South Carolina or compact state) BLS, ACLS, and NRP certification Progressive leadership experience in Women’s Services (L&D, Nursery, NICU) Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, quality metrics, and patient safety standards Demonstrated success building collaborative physician and staff relationships
