Location: Mason, Ohio
Onsite: 5 days a week (8-5)
Pay: $132,000- 165,000 (flexible on experience)
Bonus is 15% annual bonus of base
LTI of 36k
Relocation package if needed
Must Haves:
10+ years of experience in Product/UX Design, with at least
5 years in leadership roles.
Industry experience (preferably b2b but b2c with b2b knowledge is okay)
Proven track record of managing and scaling design teams in fast-paced environments.
Expertise in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools.
Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, usability, accessibility, and research methodologies.
Experience with design systems and building scalable frameworks for consistent UX delivery.
A portfolio showcasing your ability to drive impactful design strategies and deliver innovative solutions.
Plusses:
Jira software experience
Coming from popular retail companies (target, Walmart, Starbucks, etc.)
Job Description
We are seeking a visionary Director of Design to lead and inspire our Product Design team. In this role, you will oversee the design strategy, execution, and cross-functional collaboration to create best-in-class user experiences. Reporting to the Senior Director of Digital Customer Experience, you’ll shape the design culture, recruit and lead a team of talented designers, and drive innovation that aligns with business goals.
Day to Day:
• Define and execute the overall UX and product design strategy to align with business objectives and customer needs.
• Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of designers, fostering career growth and development.
• Manage external design resources as needed.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with Product, IT, Marketing, and other departments to ensure seamless execution of user-centered designs.
• Advocate for design thinking and user-centered methodologies across the organization.
• Establish UX standards to be used consistently across all applications.
• Oversee the end-to-end design process, including User Journey Mapping of the Online to Offline experience, ensuring consistent delivery of exceptional user experiences across all touchpoints.
• Establish and maintain scalable design systems and processes to support a growing product portfolio.
• Use data-driven insights and user research to inform design decisions and measure success.
• Represent the design team and its vision in executive meetings, communicating design impact and strategy to stakeholders.
