About the Director of Software Engineering Position We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and technically exceptional Director of   Software Engineering  to join our executive team to lead our engineering team through its next phase of growth. This person must be a hands-on leader and set the company's long-term technology vision, manage platform reliability and innovation, and build a high-performing engineering team.
This role reports to the CEO and works cross-functionally with engineering, product, operations, client success, and business development. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable defining technology strategy at a board meeting as they are digging into system architecture or mentoring a rising engineering manager.
Director of Software Engineering Responsibilities: Platform Execution Oversee the development, deployment, and scaling of Repisodic's cloud-based, EHR-integrated SaaS platform. Ensure platform performance, uptime, data security, and compliance (HIPAA, SOC 2, etc.). Identify and implement emerging technologies that deliver competitive advantage and user value. Ensure secure and scalable integrations with major EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner), insurance platforms, and other third-party APIs. Balance rapid development with sound technical decision-making and sustainable architecture.
Engineering Management Hire, manage, and grow a world-class team of engineers, DevOps professionals, and technical leaders. Foster a high-performance engineering culture grounded in innovation, ownership, agility, and continuous learning. Implement agile development best practices and robust QA, CI/CD, and monitoring systems. Ensure that continuous improvement and technical debt reduction does not get forgotten Manage a highly skilled and motivated team to optimize team functioning, business output, and individual growth.
Technical Operations Lead release management process, including branch management, QA, documentation, and deployments Define and manage technology KPIs, budgets, and vendor relationships. Collect feedback from internal teams, customers, and stakeholders and use it to generate actionable technical tickets.
What We're Looking For: 10+ years of experience in software engineering and technical leadership, with at least 5 years in an executive or senior technology leadership role. Proven ability to scale and manage high-growth engineering organizations, ideally within B2B SaaS or digital health. Strong knowledge of modern tech stacks (e.g., React, Java, MySQL, AWS). Deep understanding of EHRs (Epic, Cerner, MediTech) and EHR integrations, interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7), and HIPAA-compliant architectures. Demonstrated experience in strategic planning , budget management, and performance tracking as well as working closely with product leaders to drive roadmap execution and innovation. Exceptional communication , leadership, and organizational skills. Experience working in a fast-paced, growth-stage company. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (MBA or graduate degree a plus). Location near Philadelphia is strongly preferred but not required — remote applicants welcome.
