Developing and Implementing Sales Strategies: The DOS creates and executes comprehensive sales plans to attract new business and retain existing clients. This involves analyzing market trends, identifying target segments, and setting revenue goals. Managing Sales Teams: They lead, train, and mentor sales staff, ensuring they are equipped to meet individual and team targets. Building Relationships: The DOS cultivates relationships with key clients, including corporate clients, event planners, and travel agents, to generate repeat business and foster loyalty. Monitoring Performance: They track sales performance against key performance indicators (KPIs), such as occupancy rates, average daily rate (ADR), and revenue per available room (RevPAR), and make adjustments to strategies as needed. Working with Other Departments: The DOS collaborates with marketing, revenue management, and operations to align sales efforts with overall hotel objectives and ensure a seamless guest experience. Negotiating Contracts: They negotiate contracts with clients for room bookings, event space rentals, and other services, ensuring favorable terms for the hotel.
