Director of Sales :
The Director of Sales (DOS) is responsible for the overall sales operations of The Blake, with a primary focus on expanding the hotel’s business base, maintaining existing client relationships, and developing and executing strategies to maximize the hotel’s revenue while ensuring a positive guest experience. The DOS is responsible for ensuring the hotel is maximizing its potential in attracting both corporate negotiated as well as group (both corporate and social) business, ensuring that both segments (as well as transient) produce at high levels. This position consistently collaborates with the hotel’s operations team, as well as the hotel’s food & beverage team, to enhance the overall guest experience. The DOS reports to both the General Manager of The Blake and the RMS Regional Director of Sales & Revenue Management.
Role Responsibilities:
Serve as the ultimate ambassador of the hotel with guests, clients, and throughout the community, consistently providing excellent service.
Generate and execute strategies to solicit new corporate negotiated and group business while always maintaining existing hotel relationships.
Negotiate and manage contracts for local accounts, corporate group travel, and corporate meetings and events.
Perform weekly cold calls with the intention to grow SMERF business.
Maintain a strong pulse on market trends and demand generators to ensure the hotel consistently maintains and grows market share.
Work directly with the Regional Director of Sales & Revenue Management on developing rate strategies that are beneficial to the hotel.
Responsible for loading rates into the GDS application (Synxis) and assisting the Regional Director of Sales & Revenue Management in analyzing consortia performance.
Manage social group requests along with sending rooming lists and managing group inventory and cut-off dates.
Collaborate with the food & beverage team to contract and book all corporate and social meetings and events.
Manage event calendar, build BEO’s, and send proposals/contracts through the hotel’s event management software (Tripleseat).
Conduct weekly BEO/group resume meetings with both hotel and restaurant teams.
Manage online RFP and lead referral sites, such as HotelPlanner, CVENT, Wedding Wire, and The Knot.
Act as the hotel’s voice of the customer and communicate key information to the General Manager and key hotel operations staff.
Invoice companies with master accounts in a timely manner, ensuring that the hotel collects all payments owed.
Identify, attract, pursue, and close on social bookings and extended stay requests.
Develop a strong network of contacts and influencers in the local community.
Perform client site tours and host/entertain clients on a regular basis to maintain relationships.
Consistently follow up with clients post stay or post event to solicit feedback and maximize the guest experience.
Other duties as needed by the hotel and company.
Role Requirements
Minimum 3–5 years of successful sales experience in the hotel or hospitality industry.
Exceptional customer service skills with a passion for hospitality.
Highly organized with the ability to manage numerous tasks and prioritize effectively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong negotiation and project management skills.
