Director of Sales - Health Plan

Play a part in leading the future of health plan sales here at SummaCare! We are seeking an experienced Director of Sales to oversee health plan sales operations, establish sales strategies, set and achieve targets, and provide leadership to the sales team.
Summary:
Directs and executes sales strategies for all Medicare, Individual/Family & Commercial fully insured and self-funded APEX ASO / BPO client groups, including MEWA. Manages all aspects of sales functions including all quoting activity, Request for Proposal (RFP) process. Develops sales and support strategies for tracking sales activity and implementation of new groups. Responsible for creating and achieving sales goals by product line to achieve membership growth and profitability targets. Works with broker relations team to develop and implement strategies to build and retain broker relationships. Responsible for building strong relationship with Marketing to provide input for all advertising campaigns. Responsible for improving sales operations. Responsible for ensuring compliance with all product lines.
Formal Education Required:
a. Bachelor’s degree
Experience & Training Required:
a. Five (5) years experience to include direct and/or group sales, Account Management, health plan management, and working knowledge of insurance regulations and processes and supervisory experience.
b. Ohio Health License
Additional Job Duties:
1. Supervises and oversees day to day sales staff activities
2. Develops short and long term sales targets
3. Communicates weekly, monthly and annual sales target objectives to sales team. Equips and motivates all distribution channels to meet the targets while maintaining marketing and compliance guidelines. Effectively manages and develops the sales team. Assist with brokers as needed.
4. Collaborates with Manger of Sales Compliance & Analytics on all oversight, reporting and Salesforce enhancements.
5. Oversees the identification, scheduling and execution of promotional events, information sessions and coordinates with broker relations on broker activities related to Medicare and Individual products in compliance with any governmental requirements.
6. Develops and executes business plans and product initiatives.
7. Oversees all aspects of the internal call center including recruiting, hiring, training and scheduling of seasonal staff annually.
8. Develops and maintains reporting tools for tracking sales, production and pipeline activity
9. Develops and implements annual compensation structures for sales representatives.
10. Provides information to management concerning market environment, including competitor information.
11. Assists with all broker relations activities, including producing training and education materials.
12. Understands, utilizes and enhances Salesforce for tracking effectiveness of sales program, dispersing leads and measuring productivity of sales staff. Works extensively with Analyst to develop and maintain reporting.
13. Directs all aspects of the sales responsibilities to ensure targeted group and membership growth levels are met. Communicates accountabilities and performance expectations as related to month to month sales goals
14. Manages the RFP process and proposal development and collaborates cross functionally to grow commercial business.
15. Documents sales activities as related to; prompt quotes, ancillary cross selling, relationship marketing and achievement of quarterly goals.
16. Presents group sales advantages and core competencies as a member of the department’s management team in sales situation and employer presentations.
17. Develops, implements and monitors methodologies for tracking productivity and improving efficiencies of sales staff and processes associated with quoting activities and new case implementation.
18. Supports management of the sales service function and collaborates with Service team for all activities to ensure effective implementations and renewals.
19. Works closely with Underwriting to enhance timeliness of proposal/quote turnaround times to broker and prospective client. Works to ensure competitiveness of quotes being released in market.
20. Manages administrative processes and all facets of distribution of ancillary products including, but not limited to, life insurance, vision, dental, HRA/FSA/HSA, and COBRA products creating a growing profit center for these offerings.
21. Performs all job functions with integrity. Provides timely internal and external customer service in cooperative, professional, and respectful manner.
