Position Overview
The FastenMaster Division manufactures and markets innovative, premium quality wood-to-wood fasteners that are engineered to enable professional contractors to complete building projects safer, faster, and easier. The Director of Sales will be responsible for leading and managing a sales team and all sales operations for the FastenMaster division. This key position will develop key growth sales strategies, tactics, and action plans in addition to hitting key performance indicators, building relationships both internally and externally, and understanding customer and market trends. The Director of Sales must be a strong communicator, manage their time efficiently, possess strong organizational skills, and above all, be an enthusiastic team player.
Position Responsibilities
Promote Safety as the Number One priority of all OMG employees.
Set, monitor and exceed sales goals across regions, channels and product lines.
Lead, coach, and inspire the sales team to deliver exceptional performance, improve customer loyalty, and increase wallet/shelf share.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Partner with FastenMaster sales leadership to develop and implement strategic plans that drive actionable sales strategies with measurable goals.
Partner with FastenMaster sales leadership to align forecasts, campaigns, and budget allocation to achieve company goals, including IBP initiatives.
Support the successful launch of new products and achievement of vitality goals.
Ensure standardized sales reports (weekly, monthly, and quarterly) are provided to key stakeholders that include salesforce.com activity and BI reports.
Partner with cross-functional teams including Finance and IBP to optimize pricing strategies and deal structures to maximize profitability.
Track local and national market trends, competitors, and customers' needs to inform pricing and positioning strategies and adjust sales tactics and messaging as necessary.
Drive use of Salesforce CRM with the team to ensure proactive and efficient engagement with our customers.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and partners.
Oversee the internal sales team training program.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Position Requirements Bachelor's degree in business administration or similar field, MBA preferred.
7+ years' sales leadership experience, preferably in construction, building materials, or industrial products, with a proven track record of results.
Ability to hire, train and develop a world-class sales team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and represent the brand professionally.
Ability to translate strategic plans into actional sales tactics and measurable outcomes.
Proven track record as a sales executive, sales manager, or other similar position.
Capacity to manage various projects and work on tight deadlines.
Ability to gather and analyze the voice of customer data to drive new product needs.
Creative problem solving and strong negotiation skills.
Ability to adapt and overcome ever-changing market conditions.
PC skills including experience with MS Office Suite and Salesforce.
Familiarity with sales forecasting, budgeting and territory planning.
Ability to travel extensively (minimum 50%) with a willingness to work some weekends and after hours as required to meet sales demands.
Positive can-do attitude.
Physical Requirements Ability to operate a motor vehicle while maintaining focus on safe driving and avoiding all distractions when behind the wheel, especially cell phones.
Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and occasionally lift/push/pull/carry up to 50
