Travel: Up to 75% (including air travel); frequent on-site project involvement
Salary Range: $110,000 - $140,000
Commission OTE: $40,000 - $80,000
Vehicle: Company vehicle or allowance provided (based on availability)
Job Summary
The National Director of Commercial Roofing (NDCR) is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of commercial roofing projects at a national scale. This role focuses on project performance, safety, profitability, staffing, and customer satisfaction. The NDCR must take a proactive, hands-on approach and lead with a strong sense of culture, teamwork, and operational excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesOverall Management
Cultivate and promote the organization's culture, values, and service commitments.
Lead collaboration across Operations, Business Development, and other business units.
Set and monitor team goals, track financial performance, and ensure proper project execution.
Coach and develop Project Managers and Superintendents in construction management processes.
Drive construction teams through growth and change initiatives.
Promote and enforce safety standards and code compliance.
Project Execution
Assign and oversee commercial roofing projects either directly or through staff.
Manage revenue, profitability, subcontracting, scheduling, budgeting, and forecasting.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Project Reviews
Conduct individual project reviews focusing on finances, contracts, change orders, and documentation.
Identify and address potential issues proactively.
Ensure ethical and legal obligations are upheld.
Site Visits
Monitor safety implementation and compliance on job sites.
Oversee quality of construction, code compliance, and installation techniques.
Travel extensively (approx. 60% of time) across the U.S.
Customer Management
Strengthen customer satisfaction and retention.
Maintain relationships with customers, contractors, and vendors.
Attend job progress and customer meetings as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; OR 10+ years of relevant experience.
Proven leadership of multiple commercial construction projects and teams across large territories.
Extensive knowledge of roofing systems (e.g., BUR, EPDM, TPO/PVC, Mod-Bit).
Experience with multi-family, hotel, and multi-building campus projects (preferred).
Strong business ethics, communication, and team management skills.
Proficient in construction technology and software.
Ability to travel frequently (up to 60%).
