Master's Degree required in the area of Social Work, Counseling or related field.
Clinical Licensure required - LCSW, LMFT, or LMHC
Established experience supervising staff and working with children/adolescents with serious emotional and mental health issues in a residential setting.
The Director of Residential Programs is responsible for the day-to-day management of the agency Residential programs in order to establish and maintain a therapeutic atmosphere and environment. Responsibilities include primary supervision of all programmatic staff and facilities, monitoring service delivery, reporting outcomes, and assisting the VP of Clinical Programs with ensuring compliance with all internal and external policies and procedures.
- Actively participates in treatment planning of clients and provides therapeutic services when needed.
- Coordinates care of clients between other disciplines.
- Assists in discharge planning in accordance with treatment team and client status.
- Considers and respects the language and cultural/religious beliefs of the client.
- Maintains staff awareness of client’s rights and grievance procedures.
- Consistently maintains client confidentiality.
- Actively observes for sign of abuse and takes corrective actions as per agency policy.
- Respects desires, decisions and authority of the parent/guardian.
- Consistently treats each client with dignity and care.
- Provides client education specific to the clients assessed needs, abilities and readiness as appropriate to the client’s length of stay.
- Coordinates client education with other disciplines.
- Clients and parent/guardians will be educated on treatment planning and discharge options.
- Ensures that adequate competent staff is available at all times to meet the needs of the client population
- Maintains system for adjusting schedules and/or staff to meet the needs of the clients as required.
- Develops and maintains program rules and regulations.
- Establish and monitor performance standards that are criteria based and job related to meet the needs of the clients served.
- Evaluates all new employees after 90 days of employment and annually thereafter.
- Follows disciplinary procedures by continuously monitoring staff performance for positive actions and deficiencies noted throughout the year and working with HR as needed.
- Demonstrates interviewing skill to hire employees whose skills and attitude are in line with the agency.
- Effectively and appropriately sets limits with clients that are appropriate to the situation.
- Models appropriate and professional behavior (i.e., dress, habits, personality, tact, etc.).
- Consistently follows proper guidelines and procedures for intervening with physically aggressive clients.
- Ensures that Residential Counselors’ and clinical staff’s documentation is accurate and completed in the prescribed time.
- Prepares necessary reports and information in a timely manner.
- Ensures that client needs and services are provided within departmental guidelines.
- Monitors and maintains program budget.
- Assists Accounting Department with maintaining Magellan/ Medicaid Authorizations
- Maintains a professional attitude with agency and with community partners.
- Actively supports agency philosophy and goals.
Salary: TBD based upon education and relevant experience.
