General Purpose: The Director of Real Estate Legal Affairs will deliver legal services to minimize outside legal fees and enhance in-house expertise. Responsibilities include negotiating and preparing legal documents for store, office, and warehouse facilities. Essential Functions: Negotiate and draft leases and related documentation. Supervise paralegals in preparing memoranda and reviewing due diligence materials. Prepare lease amendments and manage landlord-tenant disputes. Provide legal advice on real estate issues and analyze proposed lease changes. Coordinate with outside counsel as needed and review standard real estate documents. Develop and maintain templates for legal documents used by the Property Management department. Qualifications: Juris Doctor degree and admission to the state bar, with preference for California. 5-7 years of experience in commercial real estate transactions, document drafting, and business law. Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to handle multiple tasks effectively. Proficient in Microsoft Word; basic knowledge of Excel and Outlook is preferred. Physical Requirements: This position requires working in an office environment with the ability to engage in in-person interactions, meetings, and collaborative projects.
