Local Director of Quality role: About the Role Lead, support, train, and develop the Quality and Food Safety associates. Assess the organization’s current & future growth requirements and develop resource & technical workplans that meet its evolving needs. Be accountable for all Quality and Food Safety systems and performance for the entire business, including external partners (such as raw material suppliers, co-manufacturers, external warehouses). Develop, implement, and enforce the Quality and Food Safety Management System requirements to ensure compliance with company policies & processes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. Own the Food Safety plans, Food Defense plans, sanitation standards, and risk/hazard assessments for all company operations. Interact with the USDA Inspector on a daily basis and provide all necessary records. Responsibilities Create new formulas and maintain existing formulations. (Restricted Ingredients must be in line with USDA regulations/Salt levels with product specs) Conduct Plant Tours with Customers and answer any questions. Interact with Department managers to resolve any problems. Conduct all Audits and Interact with Auditor for entire length of audit. Set up training sessions with Outside Consultants. (HACCP/SQF/Sanitation/ Maintain Monitoring/Verification procedures. Maintain records (2 years kept on file). Establish/Conduct Pre-Shipment review. Conduct Record Review. Establish/Maintain SSOP’s (Standard Sanitation Operating Procedure). Review all records related to HACCP plan (pre-op/op/metal detection/. Conduct a Daily Operational Sanitation check. Qualifications HACCP Certification Mandatory USDA/FDA Experience Mandatory SQF Certification #jdp
