Director of Quality & Technical Services

Salary $130,000 - $200,000 + Bonus + Benefits + Paid Relocation to the Midwest

Are you a visionary Food Safety and Quality (FSQ) leader ready to drive excellence and growth? We are seeking a Director of Technical Services to function as a strategic business partner, championing a culture of excellence and integrity across our division. This high-impact role requires executive maturity, collaborative leadership, and a commitment to preventive risk management.

You will be the key architect in shaping FSQ strategies and ensuring flawless execution. Your focus areas will include: • Strategic Leadership: Develop high-performing, customer-centric teams focused on predictive analytics and preventive risk mitigation. Mentor and grow your team sustainably. • FSQ Program Management: Manage all food safety systems and quality assurance programs for assigned facilities, ensuring compliance with customer agreements and regulatory requirements (CCP, PC, etc.). • Business Partnership: Serve as the primary FSQ contact for major customers, resolving issues and driving confidence. Partner closely with R&D, Sales, Operations, and manufacturing leadership. • Continuous Improvement: Proactively leverage data analytics to optimize the cost of quality, minimize nonconformance, and drive robust Root Cause Analysis/CAPA efforts. • Supplier Quality: Strategically build and manage the supply quality program and vendor assessment process, defining compliance with FSMA and supporting business growth. • Regulatory Expertise: Maintain comprehensive knowledge of US and international regulations, ensuring full compliance through education and verification.

Minimum qualifications for this Director of Technical Services • BS degree in Food Science, Biological Sciences, or a related field is required. • At least 10 years of FSQ or related experience in the food and beverage manufacturing industry. • At least 2 years of management experience. • Experience in a senior FSQ role with multi-plant exposure, preferably supplying domestic and international markets. • Extensive experience with food safety, quality systems, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance. • Skills: Exceptional leadership, coaching, and collaboration skills. Proven ability to translate financial/KPI data into actionable process improvements. • Certification: PCQI, HACCP, and/or SQF Practitioner certifications preferred. • Travel: Minimal travel required (5-15%).
