Our client, a globally recognized leader in the distribution of aftermarket parts for business and commercial aircraft, is seeking an accomplished Director of Purchasing. What You'll Do:
As the Director of Purchasing, you'll be at the forefront of our procurement operations, with key responsibilities including:
Lead Strategic Procurement: Develop and execute innovative procurement strategies for aviation aftermarket parts, ensuring optimal cost-effectiveness and superior quality.
Forge Strong Relationships: Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with OEMs, MROs, and aftermarket suppliers to secure timely deliveries and favorable terms.
Negotiate High-Impact Contracts: Lead complex negotiations for distribution agreements and purchasing contracts, aligning them with company goals and industry regulations.
Mentor and Develop Your Team: Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the purchasing department, establish clear performance metrics, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
Optimize Inventory Management: Oversee and forecast inventory levels to prevent shortages and excesses, collaborating with logistics to streamline processes.
Stay Ahead of Market Trends: Continuously monitor industry trends, market shifts, and emerging suppliers to enhance procurement decisions and maintain a competitive edge.

What You'll Bring:
Experience: 10-15 years of progressive experience in aviation aftermarket procurement, with a strong background in brokering deals and leading purchasing departments.
Education: A Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Skills:
Exceptional negotiation and communication abilities.
A strong strategic mindset with a proactive approach.
Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly Salesforce and AvSight.
In-depth understanding of aviation industry practices and regulations.
Travel: Willingness to travel frequently for supplier meetings, industry trade shows, and regular on-site presence at our Seattle headquarters.
