Position Overview: The Director of Project Management will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing the company’s Project Managers (PMs) and Assistant Project Managers (APMs). This role will be heavily client-facing, ensuring that all projects meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. The Director will set the strategic direction for project execution, provide mentorship to project teams, and act as a primary point of contact for major clients.
Key Responsibilities: Lead, manage, and mentor the Project Management team, including PMs and APMs, fostering a high-performance culture. Oversee multiple projects from preconstruction through completion, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and quality standards. Serve as the primary liaison for key clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring repeat business. Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement project delivery strategies and operational improvements. Review and approve project schedules, budgets, change orders, and contracts. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety protocols, and contractual requirements. Identify risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies to keep projects on track. Drive continuous improvement in project management processes, tools, and reporting systems. Participate in business development activities, including proposal reviews and presentations.
Requirements: Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in commercial construction, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership or Director-level role. Proven track record delivering ground-up commercial projects and renovations successfully. Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop high-performing teams. Excellent client-facing communication and relationship-building skills. Strong understanding of construction contracts, scheduling, budgeting, and project controls. Proficient with construction management software
